The role:
The Product Engineer will own a group of products and will be responsible for their introduction into production and for the product yield throughout the Product Lifecycle. You will be integral to the business working directly with Project Managers, the engineering and sales departments, to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.
Job content:
- Assume full ownership to drive yield improvements and process efficiencies
- Identify, develop and implement product/process improvements
- Carry out Statistical Process Control analysis and present to internal and external customers
- Provide product support on customer returns
- Lead multi-functional teams to resolve complex problems
- Run NPI and pilot programs with early-stage products and samples.
- Deal with non-conformance in line with delivery requirements
- Lead and support quality investigations as they occur
- Management of change control
- Drive product delivery and quality performance
- Manage customer expectations with quality and delivery schedules
- Define corrective actions to control and eliminate problems occurred.
- Identify contractual requirements impacting the schedule and delivery of the products.
- Manage MRB process. Report on nonconforming material or nonconforming product.
- Analyse, conduct failure analysis, root cause analysis and troubleshoot to understand root cause. Provide assistance and direct engineering support to identify solutions. Provide written dispositions for design non-conformances. Support activities to identify deviations that could impact design intent and safety and product/process improvements.
- Ensure material suppliers and external partners comply with Filtronic standards & processes.
- Provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Develops solutions that are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organization objectives, processes and standards.
- Work independently and determine and develop approaches to solutions.
- Assist the Quality Manager is delivering the Quality, Environmental and H&S Management Systems.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Relevant Degree (or equivalent) Electronics/Communications Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Maths or Physics
- Computer literate (MS applications) including enhanced Excel skills
- Positive, can do attitude
- Team player with a customer focus
- An understanding of RF module manufacturing and test processes
- Awareness and/or knowledge of RF/microwave products would be an advantage.
Additional:
- Travel (international & domestic) may be necessary to fulfil the requirements of this role, therefore a valid driving license and passport is required.
- UK Security clearance is required for this role .
