Job Summary
As a Product Engineer/Specialist, you will work collaboratively with CTS R&D, Sales, and other departments to support and document CTS products' compliance with US Federal and State Department of Transportation (DOTs) & international agencies' approval lists, university research studies, and packaging compliance tasks. Additionally, this position will conduct specialized testing on CTS products before submitting them to independent and DOT laboratories. This position reports to the Vice President of Product Strategy and Compliance.
Performance Responsibilities
Within your first year, you will be responsible for learning about the CTS company culture, contributing to a wide variety of projects, and leading project management initiatives.
During your first 30 days:
· Learn about the company's mission, vision, and products
· Learn the fundamentals of testing cement, mortar, and concrete
· Learn and adapt to the current processes concerning areas of compliance, product testing, and DOT qualified products lists management
· Shadow CTS Quality and R&D engineers on understanding the intricacies of testing CTS's products
· Discuss expectations and plan goals with your manager
Within 60 days:
· Have a very detailed understanding of testing CTS products by ASTM and proprietary methods
· Have a routine to monitor and qualify CTS products that will be tested throughout the year
· Developed a process to maintain and administratively support CTS products on DOT Qualified/Approved Product lists
· Assisted in creating, updating, and maintaining CTS products' Safety Data Sheets (SDSs)
Within 90 days:
· Received your ACI Concrete Field Technician Grade 1 certification
· Have traveled to various independent laboratories to witness product testing
By 6 – 12 months:
· Brought new ideas and processes that add value to the Compliance division
· Have planned out the following year's independent laboratory testing program
· Learn the documentation and review process to recertify CTS products for DOT Qualified/Approved Product lists
· Be self-sufficient in leading and planning product compliance projects
· Be an ASTM testing guru familiar with over 20 test methods
· Be knowledgeable about testing over 50 different CTS cementitious products
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM), or equivalent field
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to lift up to 60 pounds regularly
· Ability and openness to travel within the United States and occasionally internationally
· Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word
Experience desired but not required
· American Concrete Institute (ACI) Field Testing Technician certifications
· Familiarity working with ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) standards
· Experience working with cement, mortar, or concrete
· Experience in a laboratory setting

The starting hourly rate for this role is between $24.04 and $31.25 per hour. Starting base pay is to be determined by the experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the candidate, and alignment with the market data. The pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
