ABOUT THE ROLE
NB THIS IS A PART TIME POSITION WORKING 2 DAYS (14 HOURS) PER WEEK.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role within our diverse product management team in the English Language Teaching division.
The Product Development Lead is responsible for leading and collaborating on developing pedagogically effective assessment products that meet customer needs, have competitive advantage and are delivered to agreed market windows and within budget. You will work flexibly to research, plan, commission and manage these products through the product development process.
Key Accountabilities will include:
- To oversee, evaluate and approve the work of Assessment Managers and the team to ensure that work is being delivered to an approved standard and meets the requirement of the Customer Value Proposition
- To identify, brief and commission writers to ensure test content is pedagogically effective and meets pretesting schedules
- To ensure that all assessment content that goes into the live banks meets validation requirements and maintain specified item bank quality and levels
- To identify, manage and communicate any risks to schedules in the content development process.
- To assist with the creation and management of budgets and people resources as appropriate, alerting the Product Development Team Manager to any risks.

We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office. For this part time role, you will be expected to come in one day per week.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Substantial experience developing assessment content.
- Substantial experience of managing item writers through the content production process.
- Experience of developing content for certificated assessment products.
- Understanding of best practice test development processes and process improvement.
- Understanding of educational teaching and learning requirements
- Knowledge of the principles of assessment
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally
- Problem-solving skills
