Valley Lab Furnishings Inc. creates custom laboratory research workstations and accessories for science / medical labs, pharmaceuticals, and Universities across the United States. As our company continues to grow, we are looking for a creative and focused product designer to take on full responsibilities for the following:
Job Responsibilities:
- Design and process metal fabrication drawings utilizing Inventor / Solid Works
- Create comprehensive approval drawing packages for customer approval in a timely manner
- Create fabrication drawings including linked hardware parts, product piece parts and bill of materials
- Service customer requirements, fabricators, and construction to meet specification criteria
- Travel to local suppliers and partners supporting their needs and providing quality assurance
- Provide guidelines and leadership supporting shop staff to ensure efficient assembly process
- Coordinate and procure product hardware, electrical and plumbing materials for proper fit and function
- Product development and UL certification as specified
Qualifications:
- Proficient use of AutoCAD / Inventor / Solid Works – minimum 5 years experience
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite
- Experience designing and processing metal material through fabrication
- Creative, Positive thinker with willingness to learn
- 5 years minimum experience reading architectural blueprints and specifications
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills, proficient letter/e-mail writing skills
- understanding of budgets, cost control, schedules
Education:
- Minimum: Successfully graduated Post Secondary College
- Product Design and or Technical trade school
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $20.00-$35.00 per hour

Experience:
- drafting: 2 years (preferred)
- Autodesk Inventor: 2 years (required)
