Following a period of sustained global growth, a rapidly growing order book, and multiple projects mapped out for 2023 & beyond, we have a unique opportunity for a talented and ambitious Product Designer to join our talented, innovative, and busy design team in the UK. We require a proven track record in running and owning your own projects, as you will be taking product concepts right through to production manufacturing. You will be developing exciting market-leading products at a fast pace, as well as extending our existing product ranges covering recreational marine, RV and outdoor markets.
This role is full-time and based at our amazing, purpose-built offices on the edge of Topsham, just opposite Dart’s Farm. We’re perfectly located: just 20 minutes from the sea and the same from Dartmoor.
The role may require you to travel overseas to see customers or suppliers so you will need a clean driving license and valid passport.
What you will do;
Research, design, prototype & test product ideas all the way from concept through to production.
- Discuss feasibility of projects and present concept ideas with our sales team and key OEM customers.
- Assemble prototypes and complete product testing in house, in the test lab or on the water.
- Compile BOM’s and tooling pricing for review
- Communicate with our global supply chain during design for production to ensure manufacturability.
- Signoff samples for production.
- Generate renders and animations for the marketing team.
What we would love to see;
- 2+ years’ product design / design engineering experience with relevant degree.
- Proven ability to manage and deliver own projects on time and on budget.
- Excellent engineering and design skills combined with a solutions lead mindset.
- Good understanding of materials and manufacturing processes and how to best apply them.
- Highly proficient in 3D CAD, ideally SolidWorks. Likewise FEA and 3D rendering skills.
- Ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely.
- Competent in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
- Strong model making, prototyping and workshop skills.
- Good sketching and product styling proficiency
