Job description
Data is at the heart of any successful product team. It helps us to make better decisions, faster. Alongside product managers, designers, and engineers, you will apply your expertise to deliver customer insights that help shape the products that we deliver to our customers
Responsibilities:
- Mining for data insights, testing and validating hypotheses about customer behaviour and demonstrating how product enhancements improve customer experience
- Influencing the product roadmap through recommendations based on data insights
- Defining and tracking key product metrics to help teams focus on what really matters
- Collaborating closely with Product Development to make sure we collect the correct data to produce valuable insights into our customers
- Supporting product teams in understanding customer behaviours and identifying levers to move key metrics
- Working with functional teams with exposure to finance, sales, marketing and customer success to help them track performance and progress towards their goals.
- Creating effective data visualisations to present insights to the team and the wider organisation
- Supporting data modelling, testing practices and writing reusable, modular dbt and Looker components
- Striving to consistently raise the bar for data analytics within Product, by providing craft guidance, championing best practises and ensuring the correct tools are available
There is a wide range of skills and experience that would help candidates succeed in this role. We've listed some of them below, but we do not necessarily expect candidates to have all of them:
- Experience within product data analytics, playing a core role in data gathering, data analysis and supporting the team to make informed data based decisions
- Demonstrated success in using analytics to drive the understanding, growth and success of products
- Hands-on experience with SQL and DBT, able to work with underlying datasets as well as visualisation
- Understanding of designing schemas and building data models with dbt
- Experience using data visualisation tools (i.e Looker)
- Data warehouse and BI tool experience in multi-terabyte/petabyte environments.
- + Solid understanding of how to model data from a wide variety of PaaS/SaaS providers, e.g. Mixpanel, HubSpot, Google Analytics.
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proactive, organised and has exceptional attention to detail
