It’s a busy and exciting time for the brand and we’re on the hunt for a Product Copywriter to join our busy Creative team!
The Role:
Most of your time will be spent getting your hands on product and writing creative, compelling descriptions for newlook.com. Working across our women’s, men’s, accessories and 915 collections, it’s as close to the action as you can get (and great for getting ahead with your wishlist!). You’ll need to get to grips with our brand tone of voice and apply it to each PD you write, conveying who we are and what we stand for, as well the USPs of each item.
You’ll also write SEO copy, so being a fast writer with an eye for spelling and grammar is a must. You will occasionally get the opportunity to write across email, editorial, in store and social, too, but this will be ad-hoc, with product descriptions taking priority.
You should have a thorough knowledge of fashion terms, a good understanding of SEO and a high level of computer literacy as you’ll need to use spreadsheets and an ecommerce platform/CMS. You’ll be inputting product information daily and should be adept at adding fabric information, fit type, measurements and wash-care into the system.
You’ll be joining a passionate, creative Copy & Content team, so we’re looking for someone with lots of ideas, a can-do attitude and a team spirit. Responsibilities:
- Working from product to write descriptions for all departments across the site, covering women’s, men’s, accessories, homeware, footwear, tall, petite, curves, maternity and 915
- Inputting all product information into the CMS, including wash care, product details, dimensions and keywords
- Regularly sub-editing the site to ensure copy is free from errors and discrepancies
- Working to strict deadlines — all products allocated to you must be complete by the end of each working day
- Awareness of SEO impacts on product descriptions and titles, working with the SEO team to ensure correct terms are used where applicable
- Ensuring the New Look tone of voice is adhered to across all copy
- Keeping a copy style guide updated with new terms and descriptions
- Conduct keyword research to drive optimisation of copy
- Writing search engine-optimised banner copy and meta copy
- Write ad-hoc editorials for New Look Daily, as well as emails, social, in store and brand copy as and when required.
About You:
- A minimum of a year’s relevant experience
- English or similar Fashion/Communication at degree level
- Knowledge of SEO
