Freight Forwarding supplies and combines freight services, information management and added value into integrated solutions. As part of the COMPANY, Freight Forwarding supports COMPANY capacity to offer customers one partner to support their supply chain challenges worldwide.

The Product function is the commercial driver of our growth. The purpose of the department is to win, retain and develop business. The Product team are accountable for specific support activities to COMPANY Freight Forwarding commercial owners in Business Development, product, and operations.

Working as part of the Product team, the Product Co-Ordinator is responsible for the daily support of the COMPANY network and Product Managers to ensure customer’s demands are met Covering, but not limited to, forwarding activity, quotations, billing queries and reporting – delivered to the highest standard in a speedy/responsive timeframe. Responsible for managing commercial rates submitted by Sales, Operations, Network and Customer Service quotations.

  • Provide special pricing & ad hoc rates to overseas partners/offices and regional teams
  • Quote all non MSR/Standard spot shipments from COMPANY network & tenders
  • Sales Lead registration and distribution to BDM’s and Sales Co-ordinators
  • Reporting Quote Statistics (success ratio)
  • Transition won shipment information to Branch Sales Co-ordinators & operations
  • Maintain the internal network pricing reference website information & rates, liaison with Business Support
  • Create and maintain pricing tools (spreadsheets, calculators, databases)
  • Inform pricing updates to relevant support teams for WWICs, CargoWise-1, GeoBid, etc. as required.
  • Corrective Actions – identify & implement changes in process to improve overall company performance

Dimensions and Quantities:

· Reporting to the Ocean Product Supervisor

· Based at our Birmingham site

· Full time, 5 days, 37.5hrs per week, (Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:30)

· No Direct Reports

Key Activities / Accountabilities:

· General

- Ensure all activities are made in accordance with industry best practice, ISO, standard operating procedures, regulatory compliance and H & S.

- Update your job knowledge through access to company and local training showing a commitment to continual professional development.

- Ensure that you have an excellent understanding and working knowledge of all aspects of Health and Safety. Familiarise yourself with the rest of the Health & Safety Manuals as appropriate, including Risk Assessments and COSHH.

- Always keep the working environment clean and tidy.

- Any other duties as required by COMPANY.

· Pricing and Quotations

- Qualify and respond to COMPANY network and Agent new pricing requests on behalf of the UK business pointing them to the self-serve tools or undertaking quote/pricing as required within agreed SLA

- Follow-up and report monthly on success of quotes provided

- Complete local, regional, and global tender pricing received by the UK Tender / Product team, looping in Sales Owners & Branch teams for existing & target UK accounts.

- To provide technical knowledge / support to the business and network

- Contact carriers for rates & information related to quotations when information not available in COMPANY tools (WWICS / WEBCARGO etc)

- Analyse volume and pricing data from clients and network to guide commercial decisions

- Update and maintain pricing databases and tools

- Issue quotations in a single format/system, and record for customer account record.

- Analyse data and information to guide commercial decisions

- Participate in projects improving processes and competitiveness

- Identify and transfer sales leads from the network to appropriate sales teams.

- Collect market & pricing feedback for improvement of new customer sales and margin on existing customers.

· Compliance

- Ensure proper & timely handover of bookings, customer contract agreements and relevant details to all involved with operations.

- Provide complete and timely information regarding new business to concerned parties within network.

- Support product managers with monthly KPI reports and additional activities as agreed.

- Ensure you always work in a proactive manner.

- Comply with COMPANY’ global sales process and commercial policy

PERSON PROFILE

Essential Technical experience:

· Vocational working and thinking level

· Strong numeracy skills

· Experience in freight forwarding and logistics industry

· Good knowledge of freight products & operational processes (Import and Export, Air, Sea and Road)

· Good communication / telemarketing and negotiation skills

· High level of MS Excel skill

· Fully PC literate and able to use various platforms & software

· Customer Satisfaction and entrepreneurial mind set

· Fluent in written and spoken English
