WHAT TO EXPECT
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Product Compliance Specialist to join our team in Whitley. This position is focused on the service and repair parts we distribute globally so there is a lot of variety and no day is the same. You will have the opportunity to make the role your own as you will be responsible for managing and supervising a wide range of compliance areas.
The areas of compliance you will be responsible for include harmonised tariff codes, long term supplier declarations, export controls of restricted products, dangerous goods classifications, safety data sheets and other compliance issues. You will be the central focus and voice for the broader parts supply chain team, and will gain exposure to a wide variety of stakeholders as you will communicate across all of the operational teams.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Harmonised Tariff Codes (HTC) allocation including amendments and queries for all products. Also, yearly HTC reclassifications and Database alignments.Long Term Supplier Declarations (LTSD) & Country of Origin (COO) data collection, escalations where necessary & queries.
Dangerous Goods (DG) Classification of all parts and DG concerns Inc. Packaging / Transport modes restrictions
Safety Data Sheets (SDS) & Compliant labels (Classification Labelling & Packaging- CLP) Inc. Webpage creation, amendments, brand identity & monitoring.
UK, EU and other regional REACH requirement management (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation & Restriction of Chemicals) Inc. Poison Centres Registration
Regional Specific Product requirements (certification, marking, registration, components/substances) highlighted via VRD (Vehicle Regulations Document) process or market intelligence.
After-market representation at ACEA WG-TDG & WG-ASS (Brussels) discussing both new and amended Regional Legislation which affects Barriers to Trade and DG of OES products.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Essential:
A strong supply chain, distribution and product legislation background
Experience of several of the following: safety data sheet development, harmonised tariff coding, preferential duty statements and supplier declaration, dangerous goods identification
A strong knowledge of product compliance regulations (Such as CCC, NHTSA, REACH etc.)
Ability to communicate across different levels and functions of the organisation, and present complex topics and challenges clearly and concisely
