Job Introduction

Procurement is responsible for managing an external spend of £1.4bn, using around 10,000 suppliers annually. This role sits within our Procurement Operations team who are responsible for the systems and processes which allow us to purchase from and make payment to our suppliers. The team’s responsibilities include: supplier onboarding, management of supplier master data, invoice query management, PO creation, electronic invoicing, catalogues and information held on both our internal and external websites.

Main Responsibilities

This role provides key support to the BBC Senior Business Partner for the implementation of Ariba Guided buying. Responsibilities are as follows:

  • Writing and executing functional tests and carrying out exploratory testing to assess product performance.
  • Supporting, implementing and helping shape the test approach.
  • Planning, estimating and reporting test activities.
  • Contributing to test process and procedural improvements.
  • Raising descriptive, concise and useful defect reports.
  • Troubleshooting– finding critical bugs or verifying reported issues, identifying their underlying cause and seeing them through to resolution liaising with other teams where appropriate.
  • Supporting change through experimenting and analysis to improve processes.
  • Providing support in tool evaluations and selections.
  • Working with product teams and stakeholders to ensure that each feature is clearly understood before implementation, validated early and throughout implementation, and verified when implementation is complete.
Are you the right candidate?

This role is for a project that has already started so you will need to hit the ground running. We are looking for a proactive, focused individual with extensive knowledge of SAP ECC6, SAP SRM and Ariba, a good understanding of Procurement and the purchase to pay process, and experience in the implementation of new systems. You will also be familiar with testing software platforms like TestRail and Jira.
