A fantastic opportunity has arisen within the Procurement & Contract Management Service for a motivated and experienced Procurement professional to join Bristol City Council, a diverse and ambitious organisation with a £1bn+ p.a. revenue budget and £1bn capital programme.

Bristol City Council is seeking to recruit a Procurement Support Officer within the Procurement area of the service.

What will I be doing?

Lead on lower value/ risk procurement, sourcing and tendering projects as well as supporting with medium/higher value/risk projects.

Undertake research and prepare reports ensuring issues receive appropriate recognition and attention.

Support individual procurement projects and systems and ensure progress to completion.

Undertake research and review procurement arrangements for commodities consistent with Financial and Procurement Regulations, UK legislation and other national guidance for the authority.

Support in delivering maximum benefits of procurement knowledge, skills and attitudes through increased competence in such areas as project management, risk management, contract management and performance management.

What do I need to have?

You will need to have experience in procurement or project management support or commercial or complex administrative work with an understanding of procurement, commercial and contracts.

You will need to have experience in undertaking research, interpreting findings, and presenting in a clear concise manner.

You will have the ability to communicate effectively in a variety of forms to establish excellent working relationships with colleagues and customers.
