Job description

We’re looking for a Procurement Manager to join our Utilities team to lead the sourcing and compliant engagement of suppliers across all contracts. This role will support the supply chain in reducing cost (not margin), creating efficiencies, and increasing mutual value. Location: Nationwide - home working available, with occasional travel to the office as required

Contract: Permanent – Fulltime and can be offered on as a job share

Salary: £competitive


Responsibilities

As a Procurement Manager you’ll be responsible for developing a compliant and strategic approach to the engagement of sub-contractors, suppliers, and service providers for the Utilities business.


Your day to day will include:

  • partner with stakeholders, senior leaders and department heads to understand business needs establishing requirements, scope and criteria for procurement projects
  • continue to develop the business’s procurement strategy ensuring alignment with business goals
  • facilitate strategic sourcing and manage the RFP timeline
  • lead initial market research and develop supplier profiles/market analysis to inform category strategy and aid supplier selection
  • create, issue and manage RFPs. manage proposal evaluation and final supplier selection
  • negotiating, contracting, onboarding and renewal of framework agreements

Who are we looking for?

This role of Procurement Manager is great for you if have:

  • experience in undertaking project procurement including negotiating contract terms and commercial requirements
  • results orientated, with demonstratable experience of achieving the best-balanced outcome against project or business demand
  • knowledge of industry contract forms and drop-down sub-contract provisions
  • excellent relationships building skills with the ability to quickly build credibility and confidence with a range of senior stakeholders
