The Role / Position Overview

The Procurement function has a global remit and is part of the Global Finance team; it has responsibility for providing a clear and transparent approach to procurement processes, whilst ensuring integrity and fairness, clear responsibility for Supplier selection, negotiation, contract & performance management.

The FT has recently implemented a new Procurement system; Coupa. This brings a wealth of new opportunities for the Procurement team from increased and upfront visibility of spend across the whole FT group, through to engagement with new business areas and providing the team with industry leading tools and data to drive performance and decision making.

The team are looking for a Summer Intern to join the team from the end of June until September.


Key Responsibilities

Role will include a specific project to be delivered as part of the summer internship programme as well as providing day to day support for the Procurement team such as supporting procurement projects for specific business areas, obtaining renewal quotes from suppliers as well as spend & data analysis. The role will also support the review of training materials and procurement team standard documentation as well as helping as needed as we plan for the further roll out of Coupa.


Required Skills / Experience / Profile

  • An interest in Procurement

  • Ideally a Finance or Business related degree

  • Must be available to work from the end of June until September 2023. We adopt a hybrid model where you will be expected to come to the office 1-2 times a week.
