We’re looking for outstanding and dynamic Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or General Management graduates to join our Procurement graduate scheme to begin in September 2023. What is Procurement?
Procurement involves obtaining goods and services that DS Smith requires in order to fulfil its customer’s needs. This includes:
- building sourcing strategies for different procurement categories
- monitoring market, political and economic situations, managing risk and responding appropriately to ensure security of supply
- negotiating contract terms and driving value through supplier relationship and performance management
- partnering with the business to ensure their requirements are understood to ensure we have available sourcing solutions for them, as well as ensuring they have visibility of their procurement spend and service levels
- driving sustainability to help achieve our goals of Net Zero by 2050
- leveraging innovation and circularity with our suppliers to create new packaging concepts and solutions for a changing world

Locations:
The Procurement graduate role is fully remote from home in the UK however applicants will be required to travel regularly for meetings.
About the programme
During the programme you will experience a number of placements giving you an understanding of our Category Management, Procurement Enablement and Procurement Finance departments. You will be involved in various projects where you will learn about Sustainability and Risk, Process Improvement and Circularity. As our customer base is international there may be a requirement to travel.
Alongside the role-specific skills you’ll develop, you’ll be in a cohort of graduates and together we’ll offer you a world class development programme which will support you in becoming one of our future leaders. In year one, you will focus on understanding yourself, your skills and your strengths and how to maximise your potential. In year two, your development will be about understanding others, how to work effectively in teams and how to lead. You’ll then be given the tools to lead the way, whether that’s in becoming a specialist in your chosen field or leading others to succeed.
About you:
To be considered for this scheme you must have as a minimum:
- A degree in one of the following disciplines: Business Administration, Supply Chain Management,
- Be able to speak fluent English and the language of the country you are applying within.
- Hold the relevant right to work within the country you are applying for.
- Be fully flexible and geographically mobile.
