Procurement Assistant, near Witney, Oxfordshire

OQEMA are one of the leading chemical distribution companies for commodities and specialities within Europe and we have an exciting opportunity to join our team based in Carterton, Oxfordshire as a Procurement Assistant. Working within the chemical distribution industry, we are looking for candidates who have high level of attention to detail and accuracy, strong relationship building skills, along with previous experience within an administration role. You do not need to have previous procurement experience, as long as you have the willingness to learn!

The role of Procurement Assistant will involve;

  • Request purchase quotes, raise purchase orders and purchase requisitions
  • Ensure supplier quotes are correct and valid at the point of purchase and ensure they meet with the order requirements
  • Liaise with suppliers for order updates regarding the delivery of purchase orders and expedite where necessary
  • Raise queries with suppliers when discrepancies are identified
  • Ensure all relevant order documentation is received and collated
  • Support on sourcing initiatives to maintain a stable supply of products
  • Build and maintain relationships with new and existing suppliers
  • Manage the Key Accounts of the OQEMA business
  • Set up new suppliers through the Supplier onboarding process
  • Work closely with the Business Units to understand their needs, objectives and priorities to optimise total cost, quality and service
  • Work closely with the Logistics and Warehouse teams to manage the supply chain and supplier lead times

Working Monday to Friday, 9am-5.30pm in our Carterton office with opportunities for travel within the UK, we offer a competitive salary, training and benefits package and a super friendly place to work.
