Process and Systems Engineering Manager

Mission of the Job:

The Process and Systems manager will develop a clear strategy for alignment of engineering processes across Semiconductor and specifically Edwards Chamber Solutions. You will promote best practice and implement in the process landscape. Working across the business to define the engineering systems required to create world class engineering solutions while reporting to the VP-Engineering. This position is based in our corporate headquarters located in Burgess Hills, United Kingdom.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Define the creation of engineering process standard for Chamber Solutions which is lean, fit for growth of the division e.g., future acquisitions have a model to adopt.
  • Develop best practice for engineering process flow to work with the new process tool being adopted and the engineering process standards. Ensuring a focus on systems engineering thinking and collaborate across the business and across departments.
  • Lead roll out of the process tool, prerequisites, mapping and implementation in-conjunction with lead representations from the Chamber Solution Product companies.
  • Lead the Product Lifecyle Management (PLM) roll-out for the business and work with the divisions to enhance learning across SAP implementation and lean out. Creating a standard for any future acquisitions to adopt. (e.g.: BoM, configuration)
  • Manage system or process projects or improvement programmes, delivering on time and to specification, with the ability to overcome technical challenges.
  • Understanding of engineering end-to-end process including product development authority rules, system engineering, and legal and regulatory requirements. In context to related applications: e.g., SAP, Finance reporting, Manufacturing Systems.

Qualifications/Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in an Engineering or Scientific discipline
  • Desired: Master's or MBA

Experience:

  • 5+ years' experience of new product development in a high technology environment.
  • Previous supervisory or functional management experience in one or more departments in an engineering / manufacturing company.
  • Management expertise: able to build business case, develop cohesive teams, provide leadership, and to foster relationships.


Scope of the job

  • Strategic Projects – The Process and Systems Engineering Manager will define the engineering system application standard with the business, working collaboratively to create applications that ensure creation, storage and control of engineering documentation that flows as leanly as possible with or into other business system applications.
  • Division - The Divisional Process and Systems Engineering Manager will create a standard for process flow and system applications with a mind for future business merger and acquisition.
