About the role:

We are looking for a Process Engineer to lead process design activities for a variety of projects. You will be responsible for designing water and/or wastewater treatment processes within an industry leading centre of excellence for engineering. And you will work closely with other engineering and technical departments to ensure that treatment processes meet the business and our customer’s expectations.

What you'll be doing:

  • Developing and designing water and/or wastewater treatment processes that meet regulatory and internal standards of practice
  • Collaborating with other engineering and technical departments as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver advanced solutions
  • Providing input and continuously improving internal design standards
  • Providing technical sign-off and assurance during project delivery and handover.
  • Providing technical assistance to operational teams
  • Contributing to the development of environmentally conscious and sustainable solutions to support Thames Water’s ambitious 2030 net-zero target.
  • Support the establishment of a cohesive, sustainable Engineering structure from graduate to industry experts

We’re looking for you to have the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or other appropriate technical qualification in Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • Ideally with relevant experience in the water industry, and preferably with experience in designing water treatment and/or wastewater treatment plants (including biosolids).
  • Understanding of the water industry environment to achieve compliance with our engineering regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with a range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects and tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Active approach to driving diversity within engineering in Thames Water.
  • Working towards chartership of a relevant recognised professional institution.
