Job description
As a Device/Yield Engineer at onsemi's 200mm Gresham manufacturing facility, you will work in a dynamic team environment and contribute to the yield improvement, parametric centering, manufacturability, and cycle-time improvements of high-performance analog and mixed signal Silicon technologies. Each day you will be challenged by working on a diverse set of projects with a world class team.
You will also have opportunities to work on internal processes as well as external design and business unit (BU) groups to bring new products into FAB. You will support the design prototyping stage through to volume manufacturing release to production. You will support the business units for yield improvement, parametric centering, manufacturability, and cycle-time improvements.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Analysis of yield at parametric test, wafer sort & final test using data mining techniques to determine and resolve causes of yield losses.
- Define process windows that ensure high electrical yield, based on available and experimental data
- Support the Process and Integration teams on process changes, new processes & new product introduction through analysis of yield and parametric E-test data to ensure both technology and product meet manufacturability goals
- Design and analyze experiments to improve yield, performance, cycle-time and cost through structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g. 8D, DMAIC)
- Interface with the Product Engineers & Business Units across the world to jointly identify and drive wafer Fab improvements, test program optimizations and identify/correct potential product marginalities
- Lead cross functional teams to identify and drive robust cause analysis and corrective actions
- Provide regular report outs on assigned projects and goals
Job Requirements:
- BS, MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering
- 5+ years previous experience in supporting Semiconductor technologies at nodes of 250nm and below
- Previous experience in device engineering, or yield engineering or product engineering role
- Thorough understanding of semiconductor fabrication processing, device physics, product testing, performance and reliability.
- Previous experience
- Ability to identify, collect, analyze and present data necessary to resolve yield related issues
- Candidate must be an effective team player and possess a working knowledge of statistics for process control, yield and reliability
- Demonstrated ability to manage strategic projects and/or corporate initiatives requiring involvement of cross-functional teams
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to work independently
Preferred:
- Experience with automotive manufacturing requirements and customer support
- Experience with project management and leading teams
- Demonstrated experience with statistical analyses and reporting
