About us
KEW technology has developed a waste gasification process that has been demonstrated in its own facility called Sustainable Energy Centre in Wednesbury. The same-size plant will be commercially proposed and delivered to the market as highly-standardized industrially pre-assembled skids, to enable a robust risk mitigation for on-site construction activities.
The role:
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Front End Design and Detail Design as part of project engineering activities.
- Develop Energy Mass Balances, PFDs, P&IDs, Equipment schedules, utility schedules and other general engineering calculations and activities.
- Technical lead and support for process safety studies such as HAZOP, LOPA/SIL.
- Numerical and analytical ability, which is used to review and understand problems in order to formulate and plan the way to solve a problem or to produce a design.
- Apply first principles in analyses and assessments, where necessary, together with knowledge of the underlying engineering principles, theories, assumptions, judgements and the limitations of analytical and assessment processes.
- Demonstrate ability to manage technical risk on non-complex single discipline tasks/projects and is open to challenge, together with skills in influencing and negotiation on technical issues.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, able to build and develop relationships internally and externally, as well as actively promoting and sharing learning
- Client focus – the ability to interface with clients.
- Drive to develop one’s technical knowledge and expertise.
- Knowledge of project requirements and balancing quality, time and cost issues accordingly.
- Develop understanding of HSE in a process environment, i.e. the importance of HSE Regulations and Legislation in industry to ensure all practices and process meet the relevant standard
- Use of AutoCAD, Plant 3-D, Navisworks and/or other plant modelling tools is of an advantage
- Able to travel to client’s sites (UK and overseas), around the UK and Overseas, if and as required, although the position is primarily based in SEC/Spaces (Birmingham).
Key Skills and Experience required:
Minimum Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering
Preferred :
- Oil and Gas industry experience (design, installation and commissioning)
- Aspen or other process simulation is beneficial
- Exposure to EPC projects is beneficial
- CDM experience/awareness
