Job Responsibilities include:
Approximately 50% of the work will be project related and the balance day to day tasks. Involvement in Lean Manufacturing improvement teams. Running and assisting in product development trials. Data collection and analysis to improve runnability, quality and process issues. Assist in predictive data modeling and analysis on Braincube pilot project Monitor and recommend improvements to stock preparation system performance through pump health performance evaluations Assist in chemical and/or process improvement trials and data analysis. Improve water system performance through process monitoring and problem solving Assist in managing capital projects Improve shipping efficiency through shipping data and workflow analysis Working closely with Quality, Technical Service, and Production personnel to troubleshoot production issues and improve cost efficiency. Monitor mill processes for emissions and work on EPA reporting and permitting.
Job Requirements:
Sophomore or higher level in Paper Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering. Prior experience preferred, but not required. GPA of 2.8 or higher. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (required), Parcview (preferred, but not required), and Braincube (preferred, but not required) Self-motivated and ability to work well in team environments.
Additional Details:
- Co-ops will be responsible for finding their own living arrangements with some search help from the mill ($1250/month stipend available for out of town residents)
- Formal two-way performance evaluation at end of semester
- Co-op summary report on semester projects and day to day tasks
