Job Description:
The Process Engineer is responsible for engineering oversight of the production process(es) to which incumbent is assigned. This includes daily process monitoring, process improvement, implementation and review of SOPs for the production environment, and troubleshooting. In addition, the successful incumbent is responsible for coordinating projects as assigned with counterparts on other production sites.
He/she works closely with the CAM Development Team and other disciplines in Product Development Teams worldwide to meet corporate goals, product quality and cost objectives. This position reports to the Engineering Manager and is based on site in Mahwah, NJ 5 days per week.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Supports new product launches.
- Accountable for the performance of assigned production processes to the highest standards, product quality and regulatory requirements.
- Ensures efficient and stable process performance of assigned production line(s).
- First in line to address production issues that need immediate attention by employing temporary counter measures followed by permanent solutions if required. Tools used include PSP.
- Keeps track and reports KPIs to manager(s), develops action plan that addresses and changes red KPIs to green.
- Performs verification and validation (IQ, OQ, PQ) activities of new/modified production processes, equipment and workflows.
- Responsible for the continuous improvement of assigned production line on a yearly basis: for example; reducing unit cost, increasing quality, yield, productivity and must demonstrate and sustain achieved results.
- He/she is the primary EBS agent for the assigned production line.
- Analyzes information and data utilizing statistical principles to make sound technical decisions.
- Must propose, participate and lead Kaizen events.
- Assesses project or task needs and asks for support from pertinent cross functional groups to address the gap.
- Creates and trains production employees on standard operating procedures (SOP’s).
- Demonstrates “can-do” approach and dedication to solve equipment and process issues to keep production lines in full service.
- Supports Global Process Owners (GPOs), colleague engineers and management on various projects.
- Travels to off-site facilities to participate in NBC programs, support other functions or training activities.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering required
- 2+ years of experience in manufacturing and/or process development; preferably in the medical device, pharmaceutical, aerospace, automotive or similar regulated environment; processing of ceramic materials high desirable
- Willing to work in Mahwah 5 days per week on-site
- Must be willing to travel internationally (up to 10%) depending on corporate business demands.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in CAD/CAM with 5-axis CNC milling machines is a plus
- Execution of equipment qualifications (IQ/OQ/PQ) and process validations highly preferred
- Strong communication, writing, analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Working knowledge of statistical tools, lean manufacturing or EBS tools used to optimize a process is a plus.
- Demonstrated effective planning and organizational skills.
- Problem solving skills; knowledge in Lean 6-Sigma methodology; preferably Green Belt Certified
- Efficient computer skills with Microsoft Office.

At Envista, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The total compensation package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, medical/dental/vision benefits, 401K match, and/or other applicable compensation plans.
