About the role
We are looking for Process Assistants to join our Knowsley Distribution Centre, reporting to the Department Team Manager, this is a busy and varied role primarily system based. You will ensure the optimal running of your department, providing timely and accurate reporting and information to allow business critical decisions to be made, as well as maintaining the integrity of the Warehouse Management System to support the warehouse operatives in the smooth running of their day to day activities.
- Responsible for all aspects of administration tasks and completion of reports to support the Team Manager with the day to day running of the department.
- Supporting the warehouse operatives with day to day system activities.
- Complete hourly, daily, weekly and monthly reports that support the running of the operation.
- Creating, measuring and monitoring key performance targets to support the Department Team Manager.
- Seek to identify solutions and improvements to regular process or system issues to save Matalan cost and time.
- Support the Team Manager with work schedules to meet the needs of the business.
- General housekeeping of physical work area.
- Responsible for regular check in and inspections of department areas, with all relevant paperwork completed in a timely manner.
- Monitoring and issuing of scanners and batteries, reporting any issues to the Team Manager.
- Maintaining databases and keeping your Team Manager updated.
- Ensure information on DC and/or stock issues are communicated as appropriate cross functionally in an accurate, timely and courteous manner.
- Working with the stock team to minimise stock losses by ensuring processes are being followed correctly.
- Run daily departmental health checks, investigating and escalating issues where appropriate.
- Monitor and manage department requests, for example request for consumables.
- Ensure stock is accurately tracked and monitored throughout the DC using systems and audit trails.
- Deal with any ad hoc issues as appropriate, i.e. LPNs, stock issues, system errors.
About you
- Previous Warehouse and Administration experience
- Experience of working in a fast paced environment with the ability to work under pressure
- Strong numerate, analytical and strong bias to system activities
- Highly organised with the ability to deal with multiple tasks
- Experience of working with Warehouse Management and Inventory systems.
- Demonstrates reliability and commitment
- Demonstrates the ability to use and work on own initiative
