We have an exciting opportunity for a Privacy Assessments Manager at Royal Mail Group located out of our Sheffield office with a Hybrid Working approach.
This role encompasses providing information governance and data protection support to Royal Mail Group in relation to information rights, governance and data protection compliance. The role has specific responsibility for enabling & supporting business units to conduct formal Data Protection Impact Assessments, 3rd Party onboarding assessments and for Legitimate Interests Assessments. It also includes supporting the delivery of the Compliance Framework and providing support for information governance and records management.
About the role
You will understand RMG’s strategy, compliance posture, operational and commercial needs and accordingly the need for sound information governance and data protection compliance, in the context of moving RMG towards a world class information governance and broader compliance framework.
You will support development and usage of processes and procedures that enable good information governance, data protection and records management. To identify, ensure and assure RMG compliance with all aspects of data protection, information rights, privacy and information governance, ensuring that appropriate information & assessments are documented to demonstrate how processing is compliant.
Be responsible for assessing privacy risks relating to new projects, processing or suppliers and recommend appropriate measures to mitigate risk and work collaboratively with others in Group Compliance and other stakeholders across RMG, utilising the expertise of other teams as required, and fostering a collegiate and collective approach, maintaining effective relationships between Group Compliance, Procurement and other parts of the business.
About You
This is a great development opportunity fo the right person who demonstrates the below skills;
- Experience of data protection/privacy impact assessments, or similar risk assessment procedures and documentation.
- Knowledge and experience of information rights and governance.
- Good knowledge of data protection and privacy compliance issues including requirements of GDPR & DPA 2018. In particular a good understanding of lawful bases for processing and the balancing test for legitimate interests.
- Keeps up to date with relevant legal and industry developments and case law.
- Experience of rigorous analysis of complex issues and proven delivery of pragmatic solutions to problems.
- Self-motivated with a ‘can-do’ attitude, focused on seeking solutions and possibilities rather than impossibilities.
- Ability to manage a heavy and varied workload.
- Ability to adapt in a changing business environment and to embrace and implement change.
- Collaborative and accessible approach, able to build mutually beneficial relationships, internally and externally.
- Willing to take on new challenges, additional responsibilities and changes in role.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and balance conflicting stakeholder requirements.
