Job description
The Print Room Operative is to be responsible for the issue and return of labels to trained Production Operatives. To ensure that the correct labels are issued and returned and that verification is adequately completed to maintain compliance. To complete daily Print Room operations, enabling the Production teams to have smooth running during product changeovers.
Main Duties:
- Completing paperwork to a high level of accuracy to record daily Print Room operations.
- Printing and issuing of correct labels using specifications as provided by the Technical team.
- Accurately interpreting orders to print the correct number of labels.
- Completing a thorough reconciliation of labels to ensure that the correct number have been used.
- Verifying label print quality using the Axicon verifier.
- Checking that all printed date coding is correct as per specifications.
- Verifying labels are issued correctly and reducing errors in the label issuing process.
- Operating in a tidy, organised and efficient manner to complete all Print Room operations and maintain order within the Print Room.
- Managing the DataGuard system for label printing, including the creation and editing of labels for approval by the Customer Technical Team.
- Troubleshooting printer and software issues with support from suppliers.
- Acting proactively to identify areas for improvement.
- Retrieving and collating paperwork to facilitate traceability requests.
- Support for the wider QA and Technical Team as required.
What you need to be successful:
- GCSE English A-C (or equivalent)
- GCSE Maths A-C (or equivalent)
- (Preferable) experience in the food industry
- (Preferable) experience with Print Room operations and printing/ editing software
- Self-organised approach and the ability to plan a workload
- Good work ethic
- Flexible and ability to adapt ways of working to support team requirements
- Good time management
- Good standard of spoken and written English
- IT literate
- Excellent attention to detail

Days of work & Hours
Either: Sunday to Wednesday Nights
Hours: 17:30 – 05:30 (Nights) including 1 hour break split over the shift, half an hour of which is paid.
Salary: £11.20 per hour (Nights)
