Magellan Aerospace, Llay Wrexham has an exciting opportunity for a Principle Quality Eng (NDT)
Full Time Permanent Contract
39 hours per week.
Job location: Llay, Wrexham, LL12 0PB.
Unionised site – works in partnership with Unite the Union.
Responsible for ensuring continued business compliance to international NDT standards NAS410/EN4179 – Aerospace Series – Qualification and Approval of personnel for Non-Destructive Testing
Identify and assure implementation of customer NDT requirements.

Essential Responsibilities
Support MALUK,Poland, India and Aerospace Processing India in their NDT processes which include
Penetrant Testing
Magnetic Testing
Hardness Testing
Conductivity Testing
Acid Etch Inspection for Machine abuse
Anodic Flaw Detection
Heat Treatment
Evaluate and interpret results in terms of existing standards, codes, and specifications
Practical knowledge of applicable materials, fabrication, process, and product technology to select NDT methods
Establish NDT techniques, and assist in establishing acceptance criteria where none are otherwise available
Establish, review for editorial and technical correctness and validate NDT instructions and procedures;
Recognize controls related hazards in a manufacturing environment to incorporate safe practices and procedures as part of the daily work plan to reduce injuries and create a safe machine environment.
Interpret codes, standards, specifications and procedures;
Designate the particular test methods, techniques and procedures to be used;
Within the scope and limitations of any certification held, carry out all tasks at all levels
Provide guidance, coaching and mentoring for NDT personnel at all Levels.
carry out, manage and supervise PCN qualification examinations on behalf of the British Institute of NDT
Participate in NADCAP, ISO14001 Customer and internal audits
Manage NDT personnel’s training and approval to ensure they are qualified to the correct quality standard standard
Ensure projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with the organizations established policies and procedures.
Execute cross component test cases and regression checks and report findings.
Develop and implement test plans and procedures using testing tools.
To update Magellan Aerospace Standard Operating Procedures with changes and gain final approval from Quality Manager
To coordinate with the laboratory on additional test requirement support
Responsible for investigating any failures with parts and escalating to the Quality and Production Manager
Ensure that processes and procedures are followed to ensure all tasks are performed efficiently and to the required quality standard.
Must comply with relevant Environment, Health and Safety legislation and company policies, procedures and safe working systems

Position Requirements:
Essential Criteria:
GCSE or equivalent including Maths & English.
Good verbal and written communication.
Principle NDT Level 3
Aerospace industry experience
Computer literate
Trained in testing methodologies.
