ABSOLUTE ANTIBODY
TECHNICAL LEAD ANTIBODY AND REAGENT PRODUCTION SCIENTIST

Location: Wilton, Redcar, UK.

Who are you?
- You are proactive, adaptable and independent, with a high level of autonomy and initiative.
- You will have good planning and organisational skills as well as a high level of attention to detail.
- You will have verifiable experience in Molecular Biology/Tissue Culture.
- You will verifiable experience working in a quality standard regulated organisation (e.g. ISO standard)
- You will have experience with protein engineering techniques, including relevant molecular biology skills, as well as experience of using mammalian expression systems (including HEK and/or CHO) for recombinant protein expression and subsequent purification.
- You will be a confident user of IT especially MS Office and DNA sequence analysis software (e.g. DNAStar
Lasergene).
What will you do?
- Responsible for optimizing upstream and downstream production processes.
- Work with the scientific team to resolve internal technical issues as they arise in the production and QC process.
- Present production and QC resolutions to management and advise on corrective action.
- Create reports containing (process and outcome) information on the manufacturing of our products that can be used to present to management and external stakeholders (i.e. customers).
- Draft and contribute to Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and production related documents (e.g. SOPs).
- Identifying areas to improve efficiency related to manufacturing and QC.
- Monitor scientific processes through the establishment and use of KPIs.
- Assist in the coaching and training of all junior and new staff alongside other scientific staff.
- Other duties and tasks may be assigned.
Academic Requirements:
At least an MSc in a related field.
Work Experience and Skills
- An MSc in a related field with 5+ years of industrial experience of current recombinant monoclonal antibody manufacture is essential, OR
- A PhD in a related field with 3+ years of industrial experience of current recombinant monoclonal antibody manufacture.
- A high proficiency in DNA sequence analysis software (e.g. DNAStar Lasergene).
- Complex problem solving – identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Judgment and decision making – considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
