Job description
The remit of the PCN GPN Lead role is to work with Clinical Directors to bring practices and a range of stakeholders together, to collaborate at scale for the development and delivery of services to the local population. The role will support the sharing of skills, knowledge, good practice and communication across all the member practices within the PCNs. The vision of the PCN GPN Lead role is to engage nurses in the work of the PCNs, and to represent the voice of general practice nursing at PCN level. The PCN GPN Lead will empower nurses in General Practice and the wider health community (eg. community nursing, care home nurses) in their crucial role in delivering the PCN’s objectives of collaborating at scale for the development and delivery of services within the PCNs.
Key Responsibilities
- To provide guidance and leadership
- Support the Clinical Directors in terms of nursing workforce, job development, maximising capacity and service development
- Represent primary care nurses at clinical decision-making forums
- NMC Registered Nurse
- Good knowledge of and experience in general practice, primary and community care
- An interest in leadership within primary care and the wider health and social care system
