About you:
You will have recent experience working for a merchant services provider and consider yourself a "payments geek". We are considering candidates from all salary brackets, looking for either permanent or contract work.

About the Job:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and ambitious Data Analyst to join a Merchant Services, Pricing, Performance & Analytics Team, to help with the strategy and achieve the growth aspirations within the company.

As a Data Analyst, you'll work closely with their Partners to help advise and support them in their engagement with merchants on pricing. You'll assist the overall team in delivering strategic pricing and performance initiatives.

Responsibilities include:

  • Analysis and response to day-to-day merchant acquiring pricing proposals
  • Reprice analysis and execution in line with external fair market drivers
  • Sales/RM engagement and pricing training as required
  • Support ad hoc current merchant services pricing and solution queries
  • Undertake historic pricing audits
  • Presenting benchmark analysis to clients

Essential skills:

  • Ability to think laterally, take initiative and develop and recommend solutions
  • Financial analysis skills and commercial awareness
  • Adept at excel and technologically savvy (Analytics a plus)
  • Organised and methodical in approach
  • Extensive understanding of the UK domestic merchant services marketplace with particular reference to Interchange, Schemes and Processing Margin and the various methodologies ie blended, IC+ and IC++
  • Knowledge of the customer payment journey from point of sale through to settlement, covering all processing channels, e.g face to face, online etc
  • Excellent communication and delivery skills
  • Delivery focused
  • Previous experience of working with merchants directly would be an advantage
