The Assistant Category & Pricing Manager for Connected Mobile is responsible for the commercial performance of the category through the delivery of market leading propositions through pricing and products. As a key member of the commercial team, you will work across multiple functions – Commercial Marketing, Buying, Strategic Planning, Connectivity, Analytics; delivered through multiple channels including Retail, Online and Call Centres across all brands. You will be expected to present details on the performance of your category to your line manager ensuring strong understanding of how the category targets are achieved.
Duties & responsibilities:
- Deliver to budget on volume, margin and market share metrics across all channels
- Produce daily sales reporting to understand key drivers of performance across categories and channels
- Analyse competitor data, recommend price changes to ensure a strong competitive position
- Work closely with the Go to Market and Marketing teams to nominate our best propositions
- Liaise with Connectivity to drive decisions around tariff ranging and hitting network targets
- Attend and contribute to sales forecasting meetings ensuring good stock availability in life and plan for new launches and end of life stock management
- Work with the Category & Pricing Manager to develop a strategic long-term plan for the development of the category
- Develop with your line manager a multi-channel strategy and work with the channel trading teams to deliver the plan
- Collaborative working and building strong relationships within the Mobile Category to share best practice, ways of working and support around key trading
Required experience/qualifications:
- Ability to process complex information and simplify the outcome
- Planning,organisation & communication skills
- Experience in the telecoms industry
- Product or channel marketing process experience
- Ambitious self-starter with proven track record in delivering strong commercial results
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills
- Strong range creation / management skills
- Strong communication and relationship management skills with internal and external Stakeholders
- Commercial acumen and financial awareness
- Educated to Degree standard or equivalent
