The PR Assistant will report directly into the Marketing and Communications Manager and will be a key member of the team. Working with our experienced internal team and external PR consumer advisors, you will be responsible for supporting and servicing press office requests from the media, influencers, and PR agents on a daily basis. You will establish and maintain close working relationships with the industry, developing brand partnerships as well as relationships within our local community and internal stakeholders. You will also support your marketing colleagues with PR administrative duties, content writing (advertorials, blogs, social posts for example), event organisation, advertising, and development and planning of company publications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage press and influencer requests whilst building strong relationships and gaining contacts.
- Work closely with the marketing team to identify, research and engage with potential brand partnerships and influencers that supports the overarching marketing and communications strategy.
- Assist with PR outreach activity.
- Strong copywriting and proof-reading skills are required for producing content such as blogs, advertorials, news stories and feature articles.
- Support the team with seasonal and ad hoc events.
- Assist with general administration for the press office including managing the press inbox.
- Monitor media and influencer sightings on a day-to-day basis, compiling and circulating weekly/monthly reports.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multi-task.
You will have a proven record of delivering excellent administrative support and will have experience of working across several projects in a fast-paced, team environment. You will have a positive and proactive approach and be a great communicator. Attention to detail and a demonstrable ability to produce written materials for internal and external distribution to an excellent standard are an important part of this role. The applicant must have previous experience in a PR-related position.
Knowledge of the UK media, social media platforms and PR are highly desirable.
Hybrid/work from home opportunities possible, however a minimum of 2 days per week working from our offices in Penzance is required.
