Job Description

We have a brilliant opportunity for a proven Power BI specialist with a curious, analytical, and proactive approach to join the team. The role is based within the Portfolio Management Office Team (part of the Strategy Implementation Team) which is a hub for data that supports our understanding of the Strategic Initiatives within Commercial Banking.
The team provides regular reporting, insights, and analytical support, influencing decision making, along with measuring and understanding performance to a wide range of partners of all levels. Our purpose is to make it as easy as possible for colleagues to understand the data and performance of various initiatives across the portfolio.
This is a fast-paced, friendly, and agile environment, where you'll discover no two days are the same, and priorities can change quickly. Fielding a variety of ad-hoc requests from partners, you'll be challenged to quickly gain an understanding of performance across a range of metrics and build reports to help partners understand the story behind the numbers.
We need a driven, proactive teammate, with an eye on the bigger picture and up for the challenge of working on a large, complex programme that will drive significant change across our business.
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
  • Building and maintaining regular reporting, utilising Power BI from a variety of data sources.
  • Excellent partner management, including evidence building long lasting partner relationships to deliver improved business outcomes.
  • A clear aim to continually improve reporting capability improving the way data is managed and visually presented.
  • Tracking performance against key benchmarks.
  • Developing dashboards to provide senior partners with a clear understanding of the portfolio.
  • Providing regular updates on performance, trends, and challenges.
  • Performing ad-hoc requests and deep dives where required.
  • Maintaining and improving the reporting capability of the team, using Power BI.
An ideal candidate will:
  • Experience in Microsoft Power BI and, ideally, an understanding in writing macros (VBA) to generate efficiencies in how our data is handled.
  • Have an established analytical background in a large organisation with a strong knowledge and understanding of analytics.
  • Show the capability to manipulate and visualise data to present compelling stories which drive practical insights.
  • Have a steadfast curiosity to understand and analyse trends; interpreting what the data is and is not telling us.
  • Be approachable, flexible, and able to meet timelines.
  • Be adaptable, self-motivated with an ability to work independently, and driven to improve the underlying data infrastructure.
  • Be a role model of collaborative working, partner management, and data quality.
  • Thrive in an open, energetic, and innovative environment – and genuinely promote this culture.
  • Knowledge of Commercial Banking products is not essential.
Location: Although we're based in London, we welcome applicants from throughout the UK.
Alongside a competitive salary (advertised range is for London, for elsewhere the range is: £52,245 - £58,050) you'll receive:
  • A Discretionary Performance Share Award
  • Generous pension contribution and 30 days leave plus bank holidays
  • A flexible cash pot (4% of base salary) to spend on benefits
  • Private health cover and access to Share Schemes
You’ll get a chance to be part of a growing team in an exciting programme which will shape the future of the Commercial Bank and be rewarded with excellent benefits, personal development and a career that’s enriching and full of opportunity.
