Are you an organised, proactive individual with demonstrable administrative experience, excellent communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team? An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Education Team in the Department of Surgery & Cancer.
You will join a busy team which supports over 900 undergraduate, MRes, MSc and PhD students across 5 campuses. As part of this role you will be responsible for providing full administrative support to the iBSc Cancer Frontiers, MRes Cancer Biology as well as MRes Cancer Informatics programmes. This will involve extensive collaboration with both academic and administrative staff in the dept, Faculty and Central College Registry teams. In addition, you will engage and monitor student progression and improve the student experience.
Duties and responsibilities
The post would suit an experienced, enthusiastic and self-motivated administrator seeking to further their career in this stimulating role in higher education. The ability to work independently, managing a busy workload with competing priorities to tight deadlines is essential, as is attention to detail and accuracy. The post holder must have a highly professional approach to their work and possess excellent organisational and communication skills.
The Postgraduate Education Administrator will be located at the Hammersmith Campus but may be required to work on other campuses on occasions.
Essential requirements
- The role requires proactive and independent working practices to establish effective working relationships with colleagues in the department as well as networking across College.
- Strong operational knowledge of some areas relating to this role.
- High level of expertise in using MS Office packages (Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project, Outlook and Word).
- Capacity to navigate difficult situations and conflicting views with tact and diplomacy, while having patience to complete tasks thoroughly and achieve necessary outcomes.
- Able to work independently and as part of a larger team in a large and complex organisation, working collaboratively with colleagues, displaying a professional attitude at all times.
- Excellent communication skills.
