Job description
We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Scientist to join the group of Dr Yi-Ling Chen based in the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences Oxford Institute (CAMS-COI), Nuffield Depart of Medicine.
You will be involved in studying translational research into Cellular immunology and molecular mechanisms of microbial defence, tissue homeostasis and autoimmune diseases. As a Postdoctoral Research Scientist, you will be responsible for managing your own academic research and administrative activities. This involves small scale project management, to co-ordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines. You will be working closely with the CAMS-COI Laboratory Manager to ensure relevant Health and Safety legislation is implemented into SOPs and followed at all times by the group members.
It is essential that you hold a relevant PhD/DPhil (or near to completion) in immunology or a related field. You will possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to work with cell lines and primary cells. Having evidence of experience in the handling of human tissue or blood samples is essential, and you will have excellent communication skills, including the ability to write for publication, present research proposals and results, and represent the research group at meetings.
