Interim Post Room Assistant -Hybrid Working – PSR 1JP00067235 Pay Rate: Up to £14.81 per hour pay range subject to IR35 status Location: PEWSEY, Wiltshire Contract: Anticipated 12 months. JOB INFO: A Post Room Assistant, is needed on a contract basis for approx. 12 months You will be a friendly, well-organised and enthusiastic to join a busy Station Post Room. This is a Station Critical role, providing a second to non-Postal service and support for the Units. The successful candidate should have experience in customer service and be able to communicate clearly and effectively with customers at all levels to deliver excellent customer service. A good understanding and knowledge of using different IT systems and the ability to work in a fast and evolving environment. You will also be able to work efficiently on your own, but also as part of a team. What you’ll do:
- To receive, sort and account for all incoming and outgoing mail to the Station.
- To advise all Station Units on the correct procedure when posting mail ensuring compliance with the Royal Mail pricing in proportion regulations.
- Receipt / despatch Defence Courier Items via Parcel in accordance with policies.
- Report and mail discrepancies to the Post Liaison Officer.
- Count and weigh each mail category (packages, 2nd class, 1st class, Special Delivery and signed for.)
- Bagging accordingly for Royal Mail pick up. Log onto Royal Mail online business account/click & drop and record the daily returns.
- To support the Post Room Supervisor in lifting and moving packages as required.
- Receipt, sorting and accounting for all incoming/outgoing mail, including Special Delivery, Recorded and parcel Force 24/48 hrs within the allotted timescales.
- To give advice to customers on the most appropriate and cost-effective way of sending out their mail.
