Positive Behaviour Support Worker
Location: Cornford Lane, Pembury, Kent
Hours of Work: Full-Time (40 hours per week)
Salary: Up to £22,713.60 approx annual salary - not inclusive of any overtime etc £10.92

About the Role:
Rosewood is a newly built PBS service consisting of 4 self-contained flats, with a separate office and staff area. We are looking for Positive Behaviour Support Workers to work within a PBS framework, with our existing staff, supporting the four individuals that live here.
Client 1 is interested in employee’s who possess the following qualities:
· Being consistent and maintaining boundaries
· Having a sense of humour and able to take a joke
· Confidence and the ability to motivate
· Being good at de-escalating moments of stress
· Promoting independence and quality of life
Bonus strengths would include being fit and active, particularly keen on cycling longer distances; knowing a second language that can be taught to him; being musical and able to play an instrument (this client has taught himself how to play guitar); being happy to go out regularly and visit new places.
Client 2 would be interested in employee’s who:
· Can help him stay in contact with his family and arrange visits
· Provide a wide range of sensory activities
· Can advocate for him, helping him to access new activities
· Having confidence to support effectively, including during times of distress
· Has an understanding of using a low arousal approach
Client 3 would be interested in employee’s who:
· Are fun, engaging and proactive
· Happy to get out and about regularly to go bowling, swimming, cinema etc
· Happy to go on holidays and overnight visits to places of interest
· Can motivate others
· Have good communication skills
· Can give dignified personal care
Client 4 would be interested in employee’s who:
· Fun and engaging
· Can appropriately encourage participation
· Actively support
· Can help him access physical activities, such as tennis and football
· Has an understanding of mental health conditions
What you can expect from us:
We will support you with regular access to, and supervision with, a Positive Behaviour Support Specialist as well as with your line manager, and the opportunity to complete a L3 accredited PBS qualification.
A PBS Support Worker should be:
Able to work with the PBS team to create and follow behavioural management strategies
Able to source and establish an activity planner.
Experienced in de-escalating difficult situations in a calm, positive and proactive way
Physically fit
Not be afraid to try new things
Resilient
Able to actively support, promoting independence
As a member of our team, you should have:
Experience of working with people with a learning disability and/or Autism
Experience of working with people who may display behaviours of concern. A willingness to learn new skills and receive feedback through regular observations and coaching sessions from our PBS Specialist team.
A willingness to complete PBS qualifications – this requires at least
L2 English and Maths
Ideally have a driving licence and be able to drive a company vehicle
