We are currently seeking to recruit an experienced Portfolio Analytics - Investment Analyst to assist our global teams in providing comprehensive portfolio analysis and interpretation on core products across global investment strategies within HSBC Asset Management. The role will focus in providing support to the Investment team in utilizing the internally developed portfolio analytical tools in analysing investment product and strategies managed across various asset classes, in particularly Global Fixed Income and Multi-Asset.
In this role, you will:
- Provide support for the front office analytical tool set, primarily HSBC Analytics (in-house analytical toolset)
- Maintain and provide a thorough understanding of investment risk models, our multi-process investment framework, the drivers of market risk and the implications on product performance and attribution
- Design and creation of new kinds of risk analytics to help portfolio managers to have a better understanding of their portfolio risks and exposures
- Provide support for ad-hoc business requests, such as introducing new analytics, enhancing current portfolio analysis tools, and reviewing current data and delivery processes, to improve user experience
- Encourage proliferation of investment analytics to the front office and senior management
- Liaise with regional offices to ensure successful implementation of the global investment themes and principles to ensure the front office remains symbiotic and well-integrated
- Create thorough documentation of tools and processes to encourage a self-service culture amongst users
- Assist in the oversight of the global investment platform
- Enhance and streamline processes where necessary and contribute to the technical design and development of new solutions
To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
- Related experience within an investment risk / portfolio analytics / fund management capacity with good understanding of risk sensitivities and modern portfolio theory
- Practical application of risk / other analytical systems with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Profound knowledge and understanding of financial markets
- Attention to detail and an ability to perform independently and accountable
- Knowledge of programming within Python and VBA, confident with MS Excel is essential
- Practise in data visualisation tools such as Quicksight, Tableau, Power BI or similar is desirable
- Positive and proactive attitude with flexibility to accommodate changing environment and willingness to take on new responsibilities
This is a Hybrid working role with the base location as London. The successful candidate will have to have the ability to commute to this location.
