Opportunity to join the Americas investment team at Pyrford International. In this role you will be assisting the senior portfolio managers in analysing potential investment opportunities across the Americas region but predominantly focusing on the US and Canadian markets.

Pyrford is a provider of global asset management services for collective investment funds, investment management companies, local and state bodies, pension schemes, endowments and foundations. The company has been operating from its London, UK base since 1987. The investment approach is rooted in capital preservation through a clear focus on quality and value. Pyrford invests across global equity and bond markets on behalf of clients.
How you'll spend your time...
- Assisting senior portfolio managers in evaluating new investment opportunities for the Americas region.
- Analysing company annual reports.
- Preparing for and attending company presentations.
- Updating the team on current holdings in the investment portfolios
- Assisting in administrative tasks for the desk and the wider firm.
- Travelling to the Americas region on company meeting/research trips.
- Preparing for and attending sell-side research analyst meetings.
- Taking responsibility for the ESG (environmental, social and governance) initiatives for the desk after an appropriate period.
To be successful in this role you will have...
A keen interest in financial markets and investing.- Be comfortable with excel and financial modelling
- An understanding of accounting and basic valuation techniques
- An interest in the developing a career in covering North American equities
- An understanding of what makes a successful investment
- Prior financial services experience
- An inquisitive nature with an attention to detail
- Comfortable looking at various stock market sectors
- Willing to take the initiative and be a self-starter
If you also had this, it would be great…
- Investment banking/accounting/asset management/financial services experience
- CFA or currently working towards Level 2
