Job description
The Faculty of Law is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Finance Administrator. The role will work closely with the Accounts Manager and Deputy Faculty Administrator (Finance, Research and Facilities Management) and will also work closely with the financial team at the Institute of Criminology.
The Faculty of Law currently has over 80 University, Faculty and College teaching officers. Almost every area of legal interest is represented. Within its professional services team, the Faculty has 23 administrative staff, an IT team of 5 and a Legal Research Training & Communications Specialist.
The administrator is responsible for carrying out financial functions and responding to related queries in a timely manner, to efficiently support the Faculty's strategic financial objectives. The role holder will also be responsible for collecting and maintaining financial information related to the Faculty, in order to quickly and accurately provide data on request.
The role will be responsible for purchase orders, expense claims, processing invoices, while maintaining an accurate filing system. The role will be a first point of contact for finance queries and provide advice as well as providing documentation and spreadsheets to the team.
Prior knowledge of the University Finance System (UFS) is not essential but is desirable as it will assist the successful candidate to navigate the requisite modules efficiently (accounts receivable and payable, iProcurement etc.).
Temporary cover: This post is fixed-term of 1 year or the return of the post holder, whichever is the earlier.
