Job description
An opportunity has arisen for a friendly, caring and hardworking individual to join the Trust in the key role of Porter.
Integral to the smooth running of the hospital and its services, the successful candidate will work as part of a team delivering a comprehensive patient-focused service.
Training will be for a period of 2 week.
No two days will be the same and you will enjoy the chance to work with a wide range of colleagues, patients and their families as you go about your duties across the hospital site. We'll rely on you to provide a number of crucial services, including patient transfer between wards and departments, moving equipment, case notes, specimens, medical gases, linen and furniture, as required.
The nature of the job does involve heavy lifting care of patients during transportation, lone working and a lot of walking and being on your feet most of the shift and therefore by the very nature the post requires individuals who are physically fit and able to maintain a responsive condition at all times.
