This is a part time Driver/Porter Role, based at Royal Oldham
This is a Band 2 position paying £10.37 - 18.97 per hour.
Hours: Saturday & Sunday
Job Description
This is a very high-profile post with regard patient and visitor contact. The driver porter is constantly out and about the entire day, seven days per week, twenty-four hours per day and will be questioned by the public constantly regarding direction, policies etc. It is essential that they have they correct patient and public focus at all times and are able to observe dignity and respect whilst carrying out their duties.
They have total responsibility for transfer of patients by chair, trolley or bed across the Trust. The porter’s realise the importance of talking to patients and are a calming influence when the patient is upset or nervous.
Removal of deceased patients from wards to the mortuary. They will also assist with the viewing of the deceased when relatives call out of hours, this is a regular occurrence.
The porter’s operate a discharge service in the evenings, whereby a specially adapted vehicle is used to take patients home when other transport or services are not available.
The skills required are
· Full clean UK driving licence.
· Reliable and flexible
· Excellent Customer Service
· Knowledge of local area
