Job description
Port Services Operator
Forth Ports Limited is a dynamic and multimodal ports owner and operator. We offer a wide range of diverse port related services to help connect the UK with Europe and the rest of the World and if recent world events have taught us anything, it is the critical importance of logistics to every aspect of our life. The port business is where it all happens and from unitised cargoes to renewables and everything in between, we keep the UK moving.
About the role
Based at our busy Port in Dundee, your duties will predominately involve providing a flexible and responsive service for our North Sea Oil (NSO) industry customers. You will also assist with other general Port related duties as required.
You will be a skilled and experienced Fork Lift Truck driver (up to 16 tonnes) and have experience in banksman and slinger work. A high degree of competency is required to handle highly specialist, expensive and often fragile NSO cargoes.
What are we looking for?
You must have a Fork Lift Truck licence (16 Tonne) and a driving licence. Banksman and slinger experience is also necessary. Crane operator experience would also be desirable.
You will be enthusiastic, hardworking and have a great attitude towards health and safety. You need to be comfortable working at heights and in an outdoors environment.
A flexible approach to your working hours is also required as weekend and nightshift working will form part of your normal working week (contractual hours are 39 hours per week). Regular overtime working will be a feature of the role too.
What can Forth Ports offer me?
Excellent career development opportunities. This is an exciting time to join Forth Ports with the announcement of the Forth Green Freeport in Scotland and our journey to net zero.
