What can you expect?
- You will join a market leading team that takes a data and insight led sales approach to help our clients understand political risk and support client growth strategies.
- The Political Risk Analysis team plays a key role in supporting growth of Marsh Specialty’s political risk business. As a political risk analyst, you will work closely with the team lead and political risk leaders across the business, learning from experts with decades of experience in providing country and sector risk insights to clients and prospects.
- The analyst will research, analyse, and collate information on a range of geopolitical trends and gain insight into the business risk sphere, while building highly transferable analytical skills.
- There will be regular opportunities to support Marsh’s global sales team on client inquiries to help deliver revenue creation.
- The analyst will get to work on creative solutions to varied business challenges alongside the team lead.
- The role is based in Marsh’s London office and offers flexible arrangement with a balanced split between office and remote working.
- You will report to Marsh’s London-based Team Lead for Global Political Risk Analysis, and work closely with them to support clients and Marsh colleagues.

We will rely on you to:
- Production of forward-looking qualitative country risk and industry analysis, primarily relating to political risk and the operating, investing and trading environment, for a range of clients and internal briefings.
- Monitoring and creating sector-specific content for clients across the banking, commodity trading, mining, manufacturing, infrastructure energy, power, and renewables fields – primarily with an emerging market focus.
- In collaboration with the team lead, drafting reports and thought-leadership materials to support business development and client retention.
- Carrying out quantitative research on country and political risk, to provide clients with data-based insights into their risk exposure.
- Contributing to the day-to-day administration associated with the platform and maintaining the integrity of the data through regular updates, including user management and training.
- Contributing to the ongoing development of World Risk Review by working alongside quantitative analysts in platform developments and enhancements, including:
o Analysis of proprietary datasets and third party sources to derive insights for revenue generation, marketing techniques, and commercial strategies
o Providing insight to support predictive modelling creation to increase and optimize client experiences, sales growth, ad targeting and other business requirements
What you need to have:
- Previous political risk analyst or other qualitative analytics experience, or a Master’s degree in political science, economics, international relations, security studies or other relevant discipline.
- A proven interest in and sophisticated understanding of international affairs and business risk management.
- Accountability and the practiced capacity to work independently and to deadlines while managing competing priorities.
- Evidence of strong research and analytical skills, both qualitative and quantitative.
- Ability to write clearly, concisely, and impartially to strict deadlines.
- Strong oral communication and presentation skills, Fluency in English.
