Our team in BDO RS is recruiting for a Policy Advisor to join our clients team, a services firm based in London, in their Prudential team.
Principal tasks and Responsibilities
- To provide advice, guidance and establish and develop policy for members on: Financial regulation generally, including interpretation and application of legislation and PRA prudential regulation.
Regulatory reporting, fees and levies.
Accounting, auditing and operational taxation matters.
- Review new policy developments and present the interests of members by drafting and coordinating responses to PRA consultation papers.
- Draft guidance for members via website briefs, newsletters, circulars etc..
- Co-ordinate Panel/Committee meetings, prepare agenda papers, prepare minutes and undertake follow-up action.
- Keep abreast of current developments on areas of responsibility, and the markets of members generally to anticipate future areas of work.
Knowledge and Skills
- Ability to analyse policy issues and develop positions that are substantiated with evidence
- Ability to take prime responsibility for particular areas of policy work
- Ability to deal with senior representatives of outside bodies and members and associates
- Ability to engage effectively with a range of stakeholders with competing priorities
Qualifications and Experience
- Professional accountancy or other finance-related (or banking-related) qualification
- At least 5 year's post qualification work experience.
