Police Constable (PC) Entry route into policing
Starting salary range is £28,812 - £29,682 (this includes £3,000 South East allowance). Your salary will increase in yearly increments up to £43,032 within seven years, along with a number of other benefits.

The four entry routes into policing are:
1. Degree Holder Entry Programme (DHEP) – For those who already hold a degree
2. Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship (PCDA) – For those who have A-levels
3. Initial Police Learning and Development Programme (IPLDP) – For those with relevant work experience.
4. Degree in professional policing (pre-join degree) – For those with/in their final year of an undergraduate degree in professional policing.

Eligibility
In addition to the above, you must also:
· have lived in the UK continuously for the last three years. This does not apply to those serving abroad with the British Armed Forces
· have not been unsuccessful in an application for the same role with any home office force in the last six months
· have a full UK category B manual driving licence. For a short time, we are accepting applications if you do not yet have a category B licence on the condition that you successfully pass your test within 35 weeks of the start of your training. You should note that if you do not obtain a full UK category B manual driving licence within this time it could result in termination of your employment. If you’re due to obtain your licence in the coming weeks, please mark this as pending on your application.
