About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Property Maintenance Operative apprentice. This course will have a primary focus on plumbing and apprentices will most often be teamed up with plumbers but will also encompass other trades - for more details on the course, please visit Property maintenance operative / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education We are responsible for repairs and maintenance of council homes, going into people's homes and undertaking works to repair or upgrade the property and maintain/improve the stock.

This apprenticeship is run by Brighton Metropolitan College who is responsible for supporting you with your learning and carrying out assessments. Your role will be linked to the knowledge, skills and behaviours in the apprenticeship standard and once you are competent in all these areas you will take an End Pont Assessment before successfully completing. You will receive support from a nominated mentor, throughout the duration of the apprenticeship.

The course will require travel on a minimum of one day per week during term times to Brighton Metropolitan College campus.

You will gain knowledge in plumbing, carpentry, joinery, plastering, brick and block work, external works and associated finishing trades including tiling, painting, and decorating whilst gaining invaluable experience in the workplace in applying and putting this learning in practice. You will build and develop relationships with colleagues, customers and other stakeholders, and work in a team to meet the requirements of the service.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.

Work Permits: This role does not meet the requirement for UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) Points-based Immigration System. Successful candidates will need to evidence that they have the Right to Work in the UK.
