We are currently looking for technicians, plumbers and electricians who have the correct qualifications, a minimum of eight years' experience, good references and excellent communication skills.
Key Requirements
We expect you to work with the minimum of supervision and have a clear focus on customer satisfaction. You must have a can do attitude and take ownership of your job. You must be able to deliver results getting the job done right first time, taking pride in your job and being a team player. You must be available to go on an emergency call out rota.
- NVQ in plumbing or
- City and Guilds certificate in basic plumbing level /
- City and Guilds certificate in domestic plumbing
- City and Guilds certificate in hot water and gas
- BPEC unvented hot water systems
- BPEC / WRAS water regulations
- Must have completed a minimum four year apprenticeship.
The recruitment process
VHL have a rigorous employment process, this consists of a three stage assessment protocol.
Stage 1) After your initial enquiry you will be sent a Pre Employment Questionnaire, this form sets out our minimum requirements which are,
Technical Qualification requirements.*
Full Driving Licence, both paper and photo card.*
Proof of eight years experience in your trade, *
Two good references’
A CV listing all the companies you have worked for.
(Note), we require full details of driving licence, Minimal qualifications listed above, a minimum of eight years registration with Gas Safe, or the appropriate NVQ qualification.
Stage 2) If your application is successful you will be invited to attend an interview, you will be required to bring with you all your trade relevant qualifications certificates, proof of address in the form of utility bills and your driving licence card and counterpart. The interview process will evidence your qualifications and experience previously submitted at stage one. You will also be asked to complete a medical questionnaire and details will be taken to enable us to carry out pre-employment checks; these will include a criminal record check.
Stage 3) Stage three will consist of a written technical examination and a practical test carried out at our Partner Technical college test centre (Gas Logic) and will take approximately six hours.
