Plumbing Technician
Grade 5 (£25,285 - £28,929 p.a. depending on experience) Salaries shown are current, however increases to salaries are due in August 2023.
This role will be based on the university campus. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.
Are you a highly motivated Plumbing Technician? Do you have excellent problem solving skills and a logical approach? Can you carry out a wide range of reactive repairs and planned preventative maintenance work?
You will have a recognised Plumbing qualification and/or Mechanical Engineering, or Heating, with experience of working on-site, preferably within a similar large and complex environment. You will have a flexible approach to ensure the service being delivered is efficient and effective to meet the needs of a wide portfolio of clients. You will join our Maintenance team that forms part of the Facilities Directorate, which is dedicated to providing a wide range of support services connected with the effective management, development and maintenance of the University
You will report in to a Maintenance Coordinator, or Deputy Zonal Maintenance Manager who is responsible for the day to day delivery of reactive and planned maintenance, where you will be central to delivering the student and staff experience for the University. You will have successfully completed a recognised Plumbing and/or mechanical engineering, or Heating HVAC apprenticeship with extensive on-site experience. You will be able to work unsupervised, and on your own initiative, within a large and complex organisation, whilst maintaining a safe working environment for all our staff, students and visitors.
