Job description
At BHL, we have an exciting opportunity for a Plumber, with prior work experience, to join our rapidly expanding team in Sparkhill, Birmingham. The fundamental focus of this technical role shall be to undertake necessary tasks in order to achieve first-time fixes and deliver the highest standard of workmanship in a timely fashion and most productive manner, and thereby, affording exceptional customer service to the client at all times.
The key responsibilities associated with this role include:
- having comprehensive understanding of, and the ability to work to, the industry-accepted Health and Safety standards;
- demonstrating working knowledge in fault finding, pre-planned maintenance work, reactive maintenance and repairs work, statutory compliance monitoring and associated remedial work;
- undertaking repair/renewal works to plumbing installations and water hygiene services, along with associated routine and non-routine maintenance tasks;
- minimising wastage and contributing to continually improve processes;
- working alongside colleagues and contractors to complete complex orders;
- liaising with supervisors in a timely manner when works are unable to be completed on a first visit, and providing detailed information to allow works to be programmed in; and
- affording exceptional customer service to customers, clients and colleagues.
To be successful in this role, you need to have:
- prior ‘on the job’ professional work experience as a plumber – ideally domestic and social housing;
- appropriate trade qualification;
- fault finding skills along with the ability to measure and give cost and time estimates; and
- cutting, bending and joining of pipes and fittings skills.
