Job description
Due to the nature of our work, the above post is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and relevant care/safeguarding legislation and appointment will only be confirmed if a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure is obtained from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
KEY RESPONSABILITIES-
- Safeguard children at all times this includes recognizing signs and symptoms of abuse, understanding how to refer an allegation and who to refer allegations to
- Identifying risks or hazards and removing them safely, reporting it to the designated officer
- Support children’s emotional & social development, encourage understanding of others & positive self-concepts
- Attend regular staff meetings
- Plan & observe the learning environment to suit the age range of the children
- Perform housekeeping duties
- Accompany children to & from school using correct safety equipment
- Observe & monitor children’s play activities & opportunities
- Encourage children to maintain personal hygiene & health
- Organize & participate in recreational activities such as team games
- Assist with any homework
PERSON SPECIFICATION- Skills, aptitude, knowledge and experience
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment understanding of childcare provision responsibilities & roles- E
- Ability to build effective working relationships with all children & colleagues- E
- Ability to promote positive ethos & role model positive attributes- E
- Good use of self-initiative skills- E
- Level 2/3 Childcare Qualification- D
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 16 per week
Salary: £7.49-£10.42 per hour
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends

- Childcare: 2 years (preferred)
