Play/Youth Worker

Responsibilities (not exclusive) are to:
- Build relationships with the individual/s and their families to support them and their son/daughter
- to participate in the planning, preparation and delivery of person centred/outcome focused leisure activities in a variety of settings or on occasion, in the individuals’ home.
- To brief and de-brief parents/carers before and after events and to complete all necessary forms or reports.
- to work collaboratively with staff at PLUS and from other organisations.
- Implement the individual’s plan to achieve stated outcomes
- Support young people with personal care such as toileting and feeding
- Promote independence
- Complete paperwork promptly
Qualifications and Skills
- Previous experience working with people with disabilities
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build a rapport
- Good basic education
- Desirable: Driving license – with access to your own car
- Interests in sport, drama, music, arts and crafts, baking and cooking would be welcomed
- Please note, you may be required to register with the SSSC, depending on how you develop within your role

Additional Information
Group events: weekend, after school, evening and school holidays
Looking for staff for: Stirling and Falkirk Group activities. Also opportunties for staff to gain skills to support children and adults on a 1:1 basis in the community across the wider Forth Valley.
Job Type: Full-time, Part-time with hours ranging from 8-35 per week
Salary: £9.90 per hour for training, £10.50 - £11.50 for all other work.
Contract length: we are looking for commitment for a minimum of 12 months

COVID-19 considerations:
All staff will receive in depth induction training which will include training in infection control with a briefing on our risk assessment. This training will ensure that all new staff feel confident and equipped to understand our protocols. PPE provided.
